Sports footwear giant Adidas is set to release its brand new Chinese New Year collection for the year 2016 and it includes a special model for NBA superstar Damian Lillard, the D Lillard 2.
The Chinese New Year is fast approaching and for some time now it has been picked out as a time when world re-known footwear brands blend culture with kicks for the hardcourt. The new collection is inspired by this year's Chinese Zodiac symbol, the "Fire Monkey".

According to The Source, the D Lillard 2 features a fanged fire monkey graphic print treated with a gloss finish. The basketball shoes are designed with an all-black upper, the silhouette is constructed with nubuck detailing and breathable mesh panels.
The Year of the Monkey edition is polished off by fire red and gold accents. The outsole is a clear blue in tone and Oak Print details on the heel cap and BOUNCE midsole complete the look, creating a final product that is sleek and clean.
The D Lillard 2 will be released on February 5, 2016 and will be available for the very reasonable price of $105 per pair, according to Uproxx.
The two-time NBA All-Star and the 2013 NBA Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard has endorsed the Adidas brand since being drafted into the NBA by the Portland Trail Blazers as the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. In April 2014, Lillard signed a 10-year extension with Adidas in April 2014 reportedly valued at over $100 million.
Lillard wore the Adidas Crazylight Boost basketball shoe during games at the start of the 2014-15 NBA season.
In January 2015, Adidas released Lillard's first signature shoe, the Adidas D Lillard 1, which Lillard wore for the remainder of the season.
He wears jersey No. 0 and is currently the starting point guard for the Trail Blazers.
