The Horse Month of the Monkey Year (also known as Hou Nian Ma Yue) is a rare occurrence on the Lunar calendar that only happens once every 12 years. Many Chinese netizens are overjoyed with the news that there will be a Horse Month in the 2016 Year of the Monkey from June 5th until July 3rd.

A discussion page about the Horse Month of the Monkey Year on Sina Weibo has received more than 60 million views and 700,000 messages.
One Netizen shared a joke that he had with his father, saying "My father told me that I will only find a girlfriend during Hou Nian Ma Yue, so I guess it's happening soon."
The Chinese Lunar calendar is well known for its use of zodiac animals to represent each year and month.
2016 has been deemed as the Year of The Red Fire Monkey, which is good news for those born in the Monkey Chinese Zodiac (those born in the years 1921,1933,1945,1957,1969, 1981 and 1993) because it is said that this year will bring them good luck and unexpected fortune - especially during their luckiest months which are the second, fifth and twelfth months of the Chinese Lunar calendar.
While this year may represent bad omen for people born under some other Zodiac signs, netizens are hopeful and many believe that in 2016 they will get the results of all the efforts and harwork in 2015. Some even believe that The Horse Month of the Monkey Year will make all their wishes come true.
Other lucky Chinese Zodiac signs for 2016 include the Rat, Ox, Snake and Horse.
