Ip Man 3 star Donnie Yen has described himself as a 'cool dad' to his son and daughter, after accepting a lead role in the Star Wars spinoff movie 'Rogue One'.

Yen made this statement during a Reddit Ask Me Anything session with his fans, when he was asked by one netizen whether he thinks he is a 'cool dad' or not.

The Reddit Ask Me Anything session was scheduled simultaneously with the United States film release of his recently concluded movie 'Ip Man 3.' The third installment of the Ip Man franchise features former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a supporting role.

Some of the interesting questions from his fans include how Yen managed to break Tyson's finger while filming the movie. Yen, in response, clarified that it was an accident that happened while he tried to execute an elbow strike.

Yen also talked about his mother Bow Sim-Mark, who has been his 'gongfu' mentor since he was a child. The actor reminisced on his training days with his mother and how she trained him with an iron fist.

Yen's upcoming film 'Rogue One' is considered to be the first spin-off in the Star Wars franchise and is slated to be released sometime this year.

Yen revealed that he felt flattered to be the first Chinese actor to make a mark in the Star Wars universe and the 52-year-old actor truly believes that this first spin-off movie will do well in the Hollywood box office.

"I have full confidence Rogue One will do extremely well, because the force is with me," said Yen.
