CBA Round 37: Liaoning Flying Leopards Strengthens Hold on Top Spot, Crushes Tianjin Ronggang Gold Lions

League leader Liaoning Flying Leopards strengthened their hold on the top of the team standings by easily thumping the eighteenth ranked team Tianjin Ronggang Gold Lions with a 28-margin game 150-122 victory in the 37th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Wednesday.

With the win, the Flying Leopards reach their 30th victory in 37 games played. The team is one victory ahead of the Sichuan Blue Whales and Xinjiang Flying Tigers who both have an identical 29-8 record. Meanwhile, Tianjin suffered their 29th defeat with just eight games won in the 37 matches played.
Liaoning's triumph also stretches their impressive winning-streak to 16 straight victories in a row. On the other hand, Tianjin endured their fourth consecutive loss.
The game was almost totally dominated by Liaoning. The league powerhouse ruled down low and scored 86 points inside the shaded area compared to Tianjin's 50. Liaoning also controlled the rebounds department, grabbing a team-combined of 59 boards with just 23 rebounds for the opposing club, including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds.
The American reinforcements of the Flying Leopards paced the team into victory, with a double-double game performance from Shavlik Randolph who scored 43 big points and registered 13 rebounds. His fellow American import Lester Hudson chipped in 34 points and 8 rebounds for the winners.
Chinese basketball star Guo Ailun dropped 26 points and four other domestic players from Liaoning scored on double figures.
The prolific scorer, former NBA journeyman, Jordan Crawford played another monster game with 50 points to laed all scorers while Chinese teammate Zhang Zhihan added 25 points and 2 rebounds. Fellow American reinforcement Casper Ware scored 15 points with 3 rebounds and 2 assists for the Gold Lions.
Liaoning will next face the Jamaal Franklin-led team of Shanxi Zhongyu in Taiyuan, while Tianjin will be visiting the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in Urumqi in the coming 38th round of the basketball league.
