LG has already sent out invites for its Feb. 21 launch event at the Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain where the LG G5 smartphone is set to be released. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is also expected to be launched on the same date.

Both the LG G5 and Galaxy S7 are expected to come with impressive features and will compete with one another in the market. Below is a comparison between the Galaxy S7 and LG G5 for those who are deciding which one to buy.

LG is yet to reveal much information about the LG G5 specs and features, but rumor has it that the upcoming handset will not sport a polycarbonate chassis and instead will have a full-metal design. Notably, the previous LG G4 and LG G3 devices came out with polycarbonate bodies. The Samsung Galaxy S7, on the other hand, will reportedly have the same design as its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 - but only with slimmer bezels. It will sport a 5.1-inch Quad HD screen, while the LG G5 is said to come out with a bigger Quad HD screen, measuring 5.6 inches and a secondary display similar to the LG V10.

The LG G5 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a microSD slot, while the Samsung Galaxy S7 will come out in two chipset variants - the Exynos 8890 and the Snapdragon 820. The latter will have 32 GB and 64 GB storage options and possibly a microSD slot as well.

With regard to cameras, the Galaxy S7 is said to feature the BRITECELL technology with f/1.7 aperture, 12.3 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera, whereas the LG G5 is expected to come with 16 MP and 8 MP dual rear cameras with an 8 MP front snapper. Both the LG G5 and Galaxy S7 will come with fingerprint scanners and run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, but the latter will also have the TouchWiz UI. The Galaxy S7 will possibly cost 649 USD, while the LG G5 could come with a 599 USD price tag.
