Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum Combines Mechanical Keyboard Function With Gaming Style

(Photo : YouTube) The Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum combines the functionality of a mechanical keyboard with the glitzy customization features of a gaming keyboard.

It is a known fact that gaming keyboards are some of the most sophisticated and well-design gaming peripheral. Design is a big factor in creating gaming keyboards as manufacturers try to squeeze in as much keys as possible. On the other hand, mechanical keyboards are on a completely different platform where function is more important than design. Logitech has, however, broken this barrier with its latest G810 Orion Spectrum.

The main advantage of the G810 keyboard compared to most keyboards with Cherry MX switches is Logitech's proprietary Romer-G switch. The Romer-G switch features a shorter throw compared to most Cherry MX keys and offers a distinctly different feel.

According to PC Gamer, some keyboards with Romer-G switch are softer compared to their Cherry MX counterparts.

In its official release statement posted on its website, Logitech declared, "Romer-G mechanical switches deliver near-instant responsiveness, registering key presses up to 25 percent fast than standard mechanical keywords."

The Logitech G810 Orion Spectrum also features LED lights, a feature that is trending among gaming keyboards. On the gaming side, Logitech has some pre-installed game profiles in the software that goes with the keyboard. The company claims that it has support for at least 300 titles at the moment and it is currently working with game developers in order to expand that list.

One of the publishers working with Logitech is Ubisoft whose upcoming title 'The Division', can be purchased in a bundle with the G810 Orion Spectrum for $159. The bundle will hit the market later this month and will be on sale until April 1.
