The Huawei GX8 mid-range smartphone, which was unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 last month, is now available for purchase in the United States market with a price tag of $350.

The Huawei GX8 is a variant of the G8 mid-range handset that was launched back in October 2015 in several markets. The phone is available on Amazon, Best Buy and Huawei's official online shop GetHuawei.com.

In terms of the design, the Huawei GX8 is made of 90 percent metal, weighing about 167 grams and measuring 152 x 76.5 x 7.5 mm in dimensions. It is currently available in Space Grey, Mystique Champagne and Horizon Gold colors.

Specs-wise, the Huawei GX8 features a 5.5-inch display screen with a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution (Full HD), and protected by the Gorilla Glass 3. It has a 13 megapixel camera on the back and a 5 megapixel camera on the front. The primary camera comes with a 28mm sapphire lens, and enables users to capture sharp images in ultra-low-light conditions.

Under the hood, the GX8 packs a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 eight-core chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card), and a 3,000 mAh battery.

Other specs include a fingerprint scanner and support for Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity. The fingerprint sensor enables would-be owners to unlock the device in just 0.5 seconds.

In the meantime, Huawei recently launched another mid-ranger, the Honor 5X, in the U.S. market as well, with a price tag of $199.99 sans contract. The Huawei Honor 5X also made its way into the European market.

Earlier this month, the Chinese tech giant announced that it was able to ship 10 million units of its P8 Lite smartphone since last year. In China, the company earned the number two spot behind Chinese smartphone king Xiaomi Inc.
