Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge paced the hot San Antonio Spurs to a 26-point margin 116-90 blowout victory against the host Dallas Mavericks on Friday night.

The overall league and Western Conference second best team after the Golden States Warriors had a great deal of firepower to tamed the Dirk Nowitzki-led Mavericks even with team superstars Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili are out of the squad's lineup.

Leonard, a five-year veteran forward, finished the game with 23 points including the 16 points he scored in the first half of the basketball match, while the five-time NBA All-Star Aldridge registered a double-double game performance of 14 points and 10 rebound.

The win marked the Spurs 42nd victory of the season and matched the team's best 50-game start record set in the 2010-11 season. The Spurs have dominated the Mavericks, winning 14 games of the 16 matches against their Texas rival Dallas.

Still, Popovich, a three-time Coach of the Year recipient and a five-time NBA champion coach, sees more room for improvement.

"Every game has mistakes, [whether] you win by 30 or you lose by 30. It happens to all of us," the five-time NBA All-Stars head coach said. "I could go watch the film, and there would be all kinds of things we could improve because it is a game of mistakes. There is never a perfect game. So it goes without saying you can always get better."

The Spurs shot 51.3 percent from the field and with 54.5 percent shooting accuracy from beyond the arc area. San Antonio owns a 23-0 record when connecting at least 50 percent of their shots.

The Spurs now own 18 victories by 20 points or more this season. There are five teams in the NBA that haven't won 18 games all season.
