Flyme OS 5.1.3.0G Update Now Available For Meizu PRO 5 and MX5 Smartphones

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu has announced that the Flyme OS 5.1.3.0G build is now available for the Meizu MX5 and PRO 5 smartphones.

The Chinese company managed to grow a bit last year. Meizu recently announced that it shipped out 20 millliion devices in 2015. The China-based company is growing fast. Many experts believe it is because the company's devices are quite affordable and offer a high-quality build with compelling software.

In regards to its OS upgrade, at the beginning of last month, the company rolled out an update called Flyme 5 (Meizu's very own skin), and now there is another upgrade to look forward to.

The Flyme OS 5.1.3 update will bring along quite a few improvements in terms of the user interface. The company improved a lot of things with this build. They even removed the Flyme Account from it, considering that this is a global version of the OS. The Wi-Fi connection stability was also improved on this update and a few bugs related to this was fixed. The built-in messaging app has been improved also, as the company encountered some bugs while using the app. In addition, the lockscreen and the notification bar have been optimized as well.

The update also introduces some layout fixes and bugs regarding security, File Explorer and Music app.  Before updating your devices, make sure to have big free space since the update will take 807MB in size (777MB initial size).

Meanwhile, the Meizu MX5 and PRO 5 smartphones are the company's most powerful devices as of today. Both of these smartphones were introduced last year, and both are made out of metal and resemble each other quite a bit.

The Meizu PRO 5 is powered by Exynos 7420 processor.  On other hand, the MX5 is powered by the Helio X10 paired with 3GB of RAM. The PRO 5 comes in both 3GB and 4GB flavors. Both Meizu MX5 and PRO 5 phones sport a 21-megapixel shooter on the back, and fullHD AMOLED displays.
