Roman Abramovich, owner of English Premier League champions Chelsea FC, has reportedly agreed on a "cut-price" deal to sell 2014-2015 Premier League Player of the Season winner Eden Hazard to La Liga giants Real Madrid CF.

The Daily Express reported that the 25-year-old Belgian winger "is closing in on a move to Real Madrid for a surprisingly low fee" after the 49-year-old businessman approved a release clause of only £20 million.

Hazard led the Pensioners to the Premier League title last season, scoring 14 goals in 38 appearances for the Fulham, London squad en route to the EPL Player of the Season and Chelsea Player of the Year awards.

Reports are out that the negotiations between Los Blancos and The Blues are now "at an advanced stage" and Abramovich is said to be the brains behind the verdict to sell the multi-awarded forward.

Hazard had been struggling at the Stamford Bridge this season, going goalless in 20 appearances in the domestic top flight. His only goal for the season came via a penalty kick in the FA Cup versus MK Dons.

The 5-foot-8 La Louvière, Belgium native's poor performance in 2015-2016 is said to be the main reason why Abramovich is keen on selling him this summer.

Just recently, Hazard confessed that he "felt guilty" about the sacking of former Chelsea head coach Jose Mourinho because of his weak play during the season.

"I sent him (Mourinho) the message to say I was sorry he had gone and... well... just that I was sorry," he said, as per The Guardian. "We'd enjoyed all that success together last season, but this time round we hadn't. I felt a little bit guilty because I'd been Player of the Year."

"I'd been one of the most decisive players, and this year I'd performed less well," he added.

Hazard was acquired by Chelsea in June of 2012 from French club Lille OSC for a transfer fee of £32 million. He is currently playing in his fourth season with the Blues and has so far appeared in 191 games and scored 50 times in all competitions.
