While most companies try their best to hide information regarding their flagship devices, tech company LG is doing the reverse by revealing the name of its device. In a press release on Feb. 10, LG confirmed its upcoming device called the LG G5 and the company also revealed some interesting features integrated into the flagship smartphone.

The LG G5 will, as expected, run on the Android platform and it will have a Quick Cover case. The new Quick Cover case retains LG's previous Quick Cover features, however, there are also tons of new features. One new feature is the touch function which was first introduced on the K10 Quick Cover View.
The new touch function of the LG G5 Quick Cover allows users to take call as well as control alarm settings without the need to open the case.
LG's rumored signature second-screen feature will allow users to conveniently check the date, date and notifications even if the Quick Cover is closed.
Initial rumors claimed that the Always-on-Display, just like the one in Samsung devices, feature will easily drain the smartphone's battery. However, LG managed to work this out by some ingenious use of OLED technology. It will be interesting to know what LG calls the new technology since "Always On Display" is a trademark owned by Samsung.
LG is once again raising the bar in terms of smartphone design by answering the age old question, what came first, the smartphone or the cover? In LG's case, it is the cover.
LG has started to hand out invitations for a press event scheduled on Feb. 21. Many analysts believe that LG will be officially unveiling the LG G5 at the event, although the company has not officially confirmed this.
The LG G5 Quick Cover features a glossy metallic finish, which, rumors claim, enhances the feel of the cover as well as the phone. This supports early rumors claiming that the LG G5 will have a metallic body.
