The Detroit Pistons currently have a 27 wins and 27 losses record, the team is half a game behind Michael Jordan-owned Charlotte Hornets in the contest for the eighth and last playoff spot. The Auburn Hills-based basketball club, which has not reached the postseason since 2009, expects Harris to strengthen their chances of making the playoffs.
Harris, 23, is a product of the University of Tennessee, where he played for one season before being selected as the 19th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft by the Charlotte Bobcats. He played his rookie season in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks after being traded in the draft night.
He appeared in 70 games during his stint with Milwaukee averaging 4.9 points and 7.0 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game in the 2012-13 NBA season before the Orlando Magic acquired him via a trade deal in February 2013.
With Orlando, his playing time, point production and overall game performance significantly improved. He has played for a total of 178 games for the Magic and is currently averaging 13.7 points and 7 rebounds in 32.9 minutes per game this season.
Last year, Harris inked a $64 million, four-year deal to stay with the Magic, when he was a restricted free agent.
Orlando is 23-29 and 3½ games behind Charlotte for the eighth spot.
Jennings, 26, is averaging 6.8 point and 3.0 assists in 18 minutes of action per game. He has returned from an injury and has played 23 games for the Pistons this season. Jennings is in the final year of his contract.
Ilyasova, 28, played 52 games for the Pistons this season averaging 11.3 points and 5.4 rebound a game. His contract for next season is non-guaranteed at $8.4 million.
