(Photo : YouTube) Vivo has confirmed that it is working on the XPlay 5 smartphone, but it is unclear when the device will be ready to hit the market.
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has confirmed that its latest flagship device called the Vivo Xplay 5 is indeed in the works. This news came after Vivo posted images of the upcoming smartphone on its official Weibo account.
Aside from confirming the upcoming device, the Chinese company teased that the device a high-end in build and similar in look with Samsung devices. Vivo did not mention all the phone's features and specification, but the images suggest that the upcoming XPlay 5 will have curved edges on both sides, much like what can be found on premium Samsung smartphones (Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+).

Last year, the company was rumored to be working on a premium device that will be powered by the Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm, pack with 6 GB of RAM and feature a curved display as its USP. That rumored smartphone was suggested to be Xplay 5s. True to this , the latest images released on Friday on the official account of Vivo shows a hint of the letter 'S' in the name of the device.
On other hand, there are rumors suggesting that the upcoming Vivo smartphone will carry a Snapdragon 820 processor on board and will be packed with 6 GB of RAM. Earlier rumor has claimed that the display panel of Vivo Xplay 5 will actually be a massive 6-inch unit that will come with a 2K pixel display resolution. The device is also said to be powered by a huge 4,000 mAh capacity battery along with Hi-Fi audio capabilities.
None of the rumored hardware specifications of Vivo's upcoming flagship smartphone has been officially confirmed by the company. Users will have to wait until Vivo officially releases this high-end device soon.
