NBA Recap: Cleveland Cavaliers Demolish Oklahoma City Thunder, Kevin Love and LeBron James Drop Combined 54 Points

(Photo : gettyimages.com) LeBron James and Kevin Love scored a combined 54 points to lead the raging Cavaliers to their 40th win in 54 games this season.

Eastern Conference No. 1 team Cleveland Cavaliers trashed the Western Conference third leading ballclub with a 115-92 win at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Sunday night.

LeBron James and Kevin Love, who both registered a double-double game performance on the night, scoring a combined 54 points to lead the raging Cavaliers touch their 40th win in 54 games this season. Cleveland is currently on a five-game winning streak and 17-10 on road. The team has won eight games of the last ten matches they have played.

Love, the 2011 NBA Most Improved Player of the Year, dropped 29 points and 11 rebounds with 4 assists, while the four-time MVP James had 25 points and 11 assists, to go along with 7 boards and 3 steals.

Both NBA superstars played over 37 minutes on the court.

"We have to bring the fight, no matter who we're playing," James, the league's fifth leading scorer for the 2015-16 regular season, said. "It just makes us focus when we're more physical. We're more in tune."

Cleveland ended the first half with a nine-point lead with 62-53. The Cavs started strong in the third quarter and made a 33-20 run to end the third period with a 22-point advantage 95-73 going into the final quarter of the game.

The Thunder team is currently on a two-game losing skid since returning from the All-Star break. They have suffered 16 losses in 56 games this season. Their recent defeat with the Cavs is the most lopsided loss of the season.

Kevin Durant  finished the night with 26 points , 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 block shots and Russell Westbrook had  a double-double game production of 20 points and 11 assists to go along with 9 boards for Oklahoma City.

"We aren't going to go home and think it's the end of the world," Durant said. "We lost a game against a good team. We've got to regroup and figure out what we need to do better and move on."
