DeRozan finished the evening with a game-high 31 points to go along with four rebounds, four assists and two steals in 37.52 minutes of playing time. He got the much needed support from fellow All-Star Lowry, who scored 21 points with six assists and three rebounds while shooting 6 for 14 from the field and connected 3-of-8 treys from beyond the arc area.

"We executed. We got stops when we needed to and we got buckets when we needed to," DeRozan, who went 11-of-19 from the field and dropped 2 for 2 from the three-point line, said."They fought extremely hard. Nothing came easy. We just tried to close it as best we could."

With the game tied at 101 and with just over three minutes left to play, Lowry drained a trey that was followed by a three-pointer by DeRozan from the corner - giving the Raptors a six-point advantage.

Forward Gorgui Dieng made it a four-point game, but Lowry connected another trey with 53 ticks to go to give Toronto a safe seven-point lead 110-103.

DeRozan followed Andrew Wiggins' basket that cut the lead back to five with another corner 3 to put away the game.

Wiggins paced the Timberwolves, who dropped to 18-40 record, with 26 points with four boards and three assists. Dieng chipped in 21 points, eight rebounds and three assists in 41.21 minutes on the court, while shooting 8-of-9 from the field.

"They hit some 3s. We struggled scoring the last couple of minutes there," said Wiggins.
