CBA Semifinals Round 1: Sichuan Blue Whales Beat Xinjiang Flying Tigers to Take Early Lead 1-0

(Photo : gettyimages.com) Mike Harris paced Sichuan with a spectacular double-double game performance of 41 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists as they thumped the Flying Tigers.
Sichuan Blue Whales got the first win of their series against the Xinjiang Flying Tigers with a 114-111 victory to take a lead 1-0 of the semifinal round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday night.
American reinforcement Mike Harris, the 2010 NBA D-League MVP, paced Sichuan with a spectacular double-double game performance of 41 points to beat all scorers and 12 rebounds with 5 assists.

Justin Dentmon added 25 points and 5 assists, while the Iranian veteran center and former NBA player Hamed Haddadi contributed a double-double production of 11 points and 17 rebounds with 4 assist for the winners.
Chinese forward Meng Da finished the evening with 25 points and 5 boards for the Blue Whales, who have won four straight games since the start of the playoff season of the Chinese professional basketball league.
Sichuan ended the first half with a six-point lead 66-60 as both teams went in to their respective locker rooms. In the third quarter of the match, the Blue Whales started to pull away, extending their lead to a 17-point advantage with 95-78 going in the final quarter of the game.
In the final twelve minutes of the game, the Flying Tigers were able to stage a comeback with a 33-19 run. However, it came a little bit late as the Blue Whales went away with a three-point advantage to seal the victory.
Sichuan dominated the shaded area, scoring 76 points inside the paint while Xinjiang was limited to just 44 points during the game.
Former Utah Jazz point guard Bryce Cotton fired a team-high 35 points with 4 boards and 3 assists, while the former Brooklyn Nets player Andray Blatche added 23 points and 7 rebounds to go along with 5 assists for Xinjiang.
Flying Tiger's guard Xirelijan Muhtar and NBA prospect Zhou Qi scored 18 points and 17 points respectively with Qi grabbing 13 rebounds, while Yu Chandong added 10 points.
