NBA Recap: Boston Celtics Rout Miami Heat to Register 10th Straight Home Victory

Eastern Conference third leading club Boston Celtics pounded Miami Heat with a 101-89 victory at the TD Garden on Saturday.

Marcus Smart scored 15 points and six rebounds while shooting 5 for 9 from the field in 27.51 minutes to lead the Celtics to their 35th victory in 60 matches this season.

Reserve guard Evan Turner and starting forward Jae Crowder each chipped in 14 points. Center Jared Sullinger contributed 12 points and 12 rebounds. In total, Six Boston players finished the game with double figures.

"We have a great locker room. I definitely don't take it for granted," Turner, who went 6 for 12 from the field in 28.11 minutes of playing time, said. "I've been on teams where it was the other way around. So I definitely appreciate the type of guys we have on the team."

All-Star guard Isaiah Thomas and Tyler Zeller helped the Celtics, who registered their 10th successive win at home, with 12 points apiece.

The Heat led by as many as 12 in the first half before a 10-2 Celtics run got them back into the game.

Led by Turner, the Celtics bench picked up the slack for the team. Starting guards Isaiah Thomas went for a lousy 4 for 17 from the field and Avery Bradley scored nine points in a 2-of-5 shooting game.

"We came out at the start of this game a little flat, and (the bench) came out and helped us get back in the game," Crowder, who shot 6 for 15 from the field, said.

Boston capped the third quarter of the game with a two-point lead, 72-70 going in to the final twelve minutes of the match. The game was still pretty close in the early minutes of the final period until the Celtics managed to stretch their lead to eleven 97-86 with 2:02 left to play following a layup shot by Crowder.

Goran Dragic led the Heat with 21 points, while Dwyane Wade finished with 19 points. Hassan Whiteside had 13 points, 15 boards and eight blocks.

It was Miami's second straight loss.
