The Bugatti Chiron is the long-anticipated successor to the widely popular and insanely fast Bugatti Veyron. The Chiron is also billed to be the next in line to hold the torch of the Best Car In The World. The Chiron sports some of the most innovative feature in terms of automotive engineering and technical sophistication.

The Bugatti Chiron has the upgraded version of the Veyron's 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine. It is capable of outputting up to 1,479bhp. It also has 1,180 pound-to-foot worth of torque and an a four-wheel drive with upgraded seven-speed twin-clutch

To cap it all off, the Chiron can accelerate from zero to 62 miles per hour in less than 2.5 seconds. Zero to 124 miles per hour is clocked at about 6.5 seconds and it takes less than 13.6 seconds for the Chiron to accelerate from zero to 186 miles per hour.

On the Chiron's dashboard, the top speed is listed at 311 miles per hour. However, there are speculations claiming that the car can go faster than that.

In a statement acquired by Bloomberg, Bugatti head Wolfgang Durheimer said, "We asked ourselves, 'What do you do when you have already built the world's best supercar?' Bugatti had to take one further step. It's hard to believe we have delivered."

With all these impressive specs, one has to wonder how much the Bugatti Chiron will cost. This insanely fast beast of a car will definitely burn a hole in anybody's pocket as it has a price tag of $2.61 million.

Some skeptics claim that the price is too much for a car that will, most of the time, be parked in an indoor garage rather than be flaunted on the streets.

The Bugatti Chiron was unveiled at an exclusive event in Geneva on Feb. 29. The supercar will hit showrooms later this fall.
