NBA All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving recently denied reports that he is "unhappy" in Cleveland and that he wanted to leave the Cavaliers for another team, stressing that he is "all about winning and winning a championship for Cleveland".

Talking to reporters after the Cavs 100-96 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Monday night, Irving was accommodating in responding to Stephen A. Smith's comments regarding his unhappiness in Cleveland that sparked the rumors.

"There's nothing to really address," said the 23-year-old three-time All-Star, as reported by ESPN. "Obviously there's going to be some misunderstandings; it's part of being on a team. For me, as a maturing young player in this league, I know what we have and the opportunity we have in order to be something special. My communication is open with all of my teammates, just knowing what's going on and how I feel about things."

"For me, all that other stuff, what everyone is going to say, they're going to pick one player, it's going to change every single week. When they think that we're down and out, they're going to choose one player, so, for me, it has no effect on my life or what's going on", Irving said, perhaps referring to Smith.

Not only did the 2014 FIBA World Cup MVP debunked the reports, he also emphasized his desire to win the NBA title with the Cavs.

"It's all about winning and winning a championship for Cleveland," he said.

Smith's remarks came in the aftermath of the Cavs' 113-99 demolition loss to Washington on Sunday, which is the team's third loss in four games.

"Dating back to last year, I've been told that Kyrie ain't too happy being in Cleveland," Smith said in his show, as transcribed by USA Today. "The situation is not ideal for him. I don't know the particulars. I haven't spoken to him personally. It's something that I've been hearing for months; that under ideal circumstances he would prefer to be someplace other than Cleveland."

Cleveland has been showing signs of inconsistencies, losing to the Pistons, 96-88 on Feb. 22nd after routing West powerhouse Oklahoma City, 115-92, in their previous game. They are still leading the Eastern Conference race with a 42-17 slate, two-and-a-half games in front of second-running team Toronto Raptors.
