Usher promised he would surprise audiences during his 2014 MTV Video Music Awards performance. And surprise he did.

After premiering a teaser of his new music video, "She Came To Give it to You," the R&B crooner donned a white motorcycle jacket, shirt and pants ensemble while performing the single.

Usher, a three-time VMA performer, gyrated and rapped his way through the first verse of the song, then headed off to his dance troupe who were all wearing white as well.

The singer proved he still had it as he grooved and sang to the single.

"Girl it ain't what you do. It's what you do tonight. And there ain't no shortcuts in doing something right," he sang.

Nicki Minaj then entered the stage, also wearing white, with a white fur shawl wrapped around her neck. The pop singer set social media into a flurry recently with her bootylicious "Anaconda" performance earlier in the VMAs.

As Minaj rapped her lyrics, Usher played the guitar, bumped and slapped her backside.

Minaj then left the stage, while one of the backup dancers grinded in front of Usher.

Usher finished off his performance with his signature dance moves, spinning and gyrating onstage. His dancers dropped to the floor while he froze as smoke rose from beneath the stage.

The crowd cheered as the sweaty singer breathed heavily and smiled.

Usher's previous VMA performance was in 2010 with his then-hit "OMG".

Before the VMAs, Usher shared with MTV that he wants to give his fans the UR experience. "UR" stands for his name, Usher Raymond.

Regarding the VMA performance, the singer shared, "Everybody, all of the executives, all of my creative people and team, they've been on-board and the VMAs really did give me an opportunity to paint an incredible picture. But it is expansive, it does feel like nothing I've done before."

Usher plans to drop his eighth album later this year which includes "She Came To Give It To You".
