The Western Conference worst performing team this season Los Angeles Lakers tamed the league's leading club and defending champions Golden State Warriors with a stunning 112-95 victory at the Staples Center on Sunday night for one of the biggest upsets in the history of the NBA.
Gilas Pilipinas prospect Jordan Clarkson led the Lakers with a game-high 25 points including 4 of 6 three-pointers from beyond the arc area and rookie guard D'Angelo Russell added 21 points to hand the Warriors their sixth loss in 61 games played this season.

Kobe Bryant, who did not play in the final quarter of the game to rest his aching right shoulder, chipped in 12 points in 24:21 minutes of playing, while Brandon Bass and Nick Young scored 13 points each for the Lakers, who have won just 13 of their 64 matches this season.
"Kobe kept us on our toes," Russell, who went 6 for 14 from the field and connected 3 of 7 from the three-point range, said. "He was coaching us the whole game from the sideline. Telling us to push it when we got it, don't wait, and it worked."
Stephen Curry finished the game with just 18 points in the score sheet on a night the Warriors were awful offensively. Klay Thompson scored 15 points, but connected just one of 18 from the three-point region.
In all, the NBA's best three-point shooting squad missed 26 of 30 attempts, a season low for a team that averages nearly 13.
The Lakers ended the first half of the game with an eleven-point lead 60-49. In the third quarter both teams managed to produce 24 points each to keep the same margin 84-73 going in to the final quarter of the match.
In the fourth quarter, the Lakers continued to dominate the offensively struggling Warriors and stretched the lead to 101-83 with a driving dunk of Clarkson with just 4:37 left to play. Julius Randle increased the margin to 23 points 110-87 with a dunk shot with 1:17 on the game clock.
