Rumors were out that the 25-year-old Belgium international is headed to an exit out of the Merseyside squad in the summer after his recent struggles at the Anfield this season.

Klopp is said to be set on overhauling his roster in the summer and Benteke is rumored to be one of the players he is keen on selling to raise more funds. But after their come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the Eagles on the road last weekend, it seems like the 48-year-old German manager may have changed his mind.

Mirror reported that the Kinshasa-born Belgian has been "given the chance to save his Anfield career" after he took advantage of the off-the-bench opportunity given to him by Klopp "after months of struggle".

Benteke was signed by Liverpool in July of last year from fellow English Premier League squad Aston Villa for a fee of £32.5 million, the second most expensive transfer in the club's history. He has appeared in 32 games in all competitions for the Reds since then, but had only scored eight times.

In his three seasons with the Villans, he played in a total of 101 games in all competitions, scoring 49 goals during his whole stint at the Villa Park.

There had been reports that teams from the Chinese Super League are luring Benteke with a huge paycheck to move to China, but he is firm on staying with Klopp and Liverpool to "prove his worth".

"In a career you'll never have only top moments, also your difficult times," said Benteke, via ESPN. "Of course, it (not playing regularly) frustrates me, but that's football too. I have to take every chance, every minute the manager gives me."

"It is hard with the big price tag because I know, with everything that I'm going to do, people are going to talk about the money," he added.
