English Premier League squad Leicester City FC has reportedly tagged its resident striker Jamie Vardy with a release clause of £30 million after giving him a contract extension last month, signaling that the England international is available to be bought in the summer.

The Foxes had given the 29-year-old forward a new three-and-a-half year deal on Feb. 6th, four days after scoring a brace in Leicester's 2-0 victory over Liverpool in the English top flight, to ensure his services until the 2018-2019 season. The new contract has also increased his weekly wage to £80,000, according to the Independent.

However, included in the new deal is a buy-out clause worth £30 million, which had alerted several rival Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United. All three teams have reportedly made a bid for the 5-foot-10 Sheffield, England native during the recent winter transfer window.

The report also said that Vardy, the top goalscorer of the 2015-2016 Premier League season with 19 goals so far, has the "option to leave the King Power Stadium if any suitors match his £30m valuation as the intrepid Foxes continue their unlikely title charge".

Leicester is currently on top of the English top flight's league table, five points ahead of second-running Tottenham Hotspur as of matchday 29. With nine games remaining in this season's competitions, the Foxes has guaranteed a place in next season's Champions League.

It was said that Vardy actually did not request to have any release clause incorporated in his contract, but Leicester officials decided to include it as an insurance if in case another team would aggressively pursue the Englishman.

Caught Offside noted that although the buy-out clause will be in play at the end of the season, Vardy is keen to stay at the King Power Stadium.

Meanwhile, Vardy has kept himself humble about the possibility of winning the Premier League title this season.

"There are no easy games and there is no easy run in," said Vardy, as per ESPN. "Everyone is in the Premier League for a reason and every club deserves to be there. They can all beat each other as we have seen from this season."

"So we will just make sure that we concentrate on ourselves, keep putting 100 percent in for each other, and hopefully that will get us over the line," he added.
