Slow Internet browsing can sometimes be attributed to the web browser itself and not just the speed of the Internet. In this context, tech companies such as Google and Mozilla have all flaunted their respective Internet browsers to be the fastest and most reliable in the market.
Now, researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab in cooperation with Harvard developed a system known as Polaris. Researchers from the two prestigious universities claim that the system is capable of decreasing webpage loading times by as much as 34 percent.

The researchers claim that Polaris is able to achieve breakneck browsing speed by overlapping the download of a webpage's objects in order for it to load faster.
In a statement, Polaris author and PhD student Ravi Netravali said, "It can take up to 100 milliseconds each time a browser has to cross a mobile network to fetch a piece of data. As pages increase in complexity, they often require multiple trips that create delays that really add up. Our approach minimizes the number of round trips so that we can substantially speed up a page's load-time."
The developers of Polaris claim that it is not based on any browser. This means that tech companies like Google or Firefox can use the system and integrate it into their own browsers in order to optimize and make them load faster.
The researchers working on Polaris said that they have tried testing the system on range of network conditions including some of the world's most popular websites. It was apparently during these tests that they found out that the system actually loads as fast as 34 percent compared to normal Internet browsers.
The Polaris system can be used on any website and can be integrated into any unmodified browser. Tech experts believe that it will not take long for the system to be fully integrated even on mobile devices.
