Auto manufacturer Jeep is celebrating the 50th year of its annual Easter Jeep Safari event. As part of the celebration, Jeep unveiled the Trailcat, a Jeep Wrangler 2x4 with a very powerful 707 horsepower Hellcat V8 engine - taken from the Dodge Challenger muscle car.

The Jeep Trailcat is a two-door Wrangler with almost a foot long wheelbase, which allows it to hold the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine in place. The engine transfers its power to a pair of Dana 60 axles via a six-speed manual transmission gearbox.

The Jeep Trailcat's engine is borrowed from the Dodge Challenger and then fitted into a Jeep Wrangler body. It is an absolute monster of a car with sport seats taken from a Dodge Viper. What makes it even more colossal in form is the 39.5-inch BFGoodrich off-road tire with massive shocks and axles, according to The Verge.

At first glance, one will be convinced that the Jeep Trailcat can climb almost any obstacle it faces. Rumors claim that it could even match the Hellcat-equipped Jeep Grand Cherokee, although this is still up for debate.

Along with the Trailcat, Jeep also unveiled two other concept designs for its Safari brand. The first is the Crew Chief 715, a robust four-door pickup that looks like a homage to the Kaiser M715 military track commissioned back in the 1960's. It sports an old-school brawny front end design, NDT military tires and to put everything together in harmony, a Tactical Green pain.

The Crew Chief has a lightweight chassis made of composite materials. Most of the upgrades included in the truck come from Jeep Performance Parts. These include a four-inch lift kit, rock rails, reservoir shock, and a steel-made front and rear bumpers both equipped with a winch.

The second concept car is the Jeep Shortcut, which looks like the classic Jeep CJ-5. Compared to the Trailcat, the Shortcut is about 26-inches shorter. It has a four-point roll bar and its wheels are made of solid steel, according to Fox News.

Jeep is yet to announce when it plans to release the Shortcut or the Crew Chief.
