Speculations abound that New York Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony is in the crosshairs of the Los Angeles Clippers heading into the summer, but the nine-time NBA All-Star said that he just "laughs if off" every time he is told of such rumors.

"I laugh it off," said the 31-year-old forward, as reported by Newsday. "Just laugh it off. People always try to make scenarios, and situations, but nothing has happened."

Anthony's comment came after being asked by reporters of his reaction to recent NBA rumors that he could waive his no-trade clause this summer and join Doc Rivers and his gang of Clippers as his wife, La La, is a regular visitor of the city of Los Angeles.

"My name is always associated with LA. Whether it was early with the Lakers and now it's the Clippers. I try not to pay attention to that," he added.

The report continued, though, that "playing with the Clippers and best friend Chris Paul is something that could appeal" to the 13-year veteran, especially if he wants to get out of the funk that he is in with New York.

The Knicks are currently donning a 28-40 win-loss record, third from the last spot in the "weaker" Eastern Conference and are seven games behind the eight-seeded Detroit Pistons with only 14 games left in the regular season. With their recent performances, it seems likely that Anthony is headed to another playoff-less season in New York.

The New York Post's Marc Berman recently mentioned in one of his articles that "if there indeed is one team" that Anthony would give up his no-trade clause to, then it would be the Clippers.

Aside from the lure of playing with best buddy CP3 in LA, the Clippers is also the most likely destination of Anthony if ever he is traded because they possess perhaps the ideal trade chip to get the agreement of the Knicks, and that is high-flying power forward Blake Griffin.

Anthony had recently commented that he and his agents will eventually have that conversation if he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause to be shipped to another team, more likely to a title contender.

However, he quickly took back what he said, firmly saying that he is unwilling to waive the clause and that he would be "a prime free agent recruiter" for New York this summer.
