Defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao FC routed last season's 10th place finisher Changchun Yatai FC, 3-0, at their home field of Tianhe Stadium last Saturday to notch their first win of the 2016 Chinese Super League season after losing their opening game.
Colombian striker Jackson Martinez, who was acquired by the Southern China Tigers for a then Asian record of €42 million just this recent winter transfer window, scored his second domestic goal in so far only two China top flight games this season for World Cup-winning manager Luiz Felipe Scolari's side, although not all of them ended in a win for the champs.

Guangzhou, who had been the CSL's winners for five straight years now since the 2011 season, lost its 2016 season opener to lowly Chongqing Lifan, 1-2, at the Chongqing Olympic Sports Center on March 6th with Martinez as the only scorer for the Guangdong residents.
The 29-year-old Martinez scored the opening goal for the Southern Tigers right at the seventh minute of the match to give the hosts the early lead, as per Xinhuanet.
It was immediately followed up by another one six minutes later with a header by resident Brazilian midfielder Ricardo Goulart off an assist from team captain Zheng Zhi.
The squad completed their three-goal haul with another header, this time from local striker and vice captain Gao Lin at the 51st minute from a pass by Martinez, via Soccerway.
Scolari's men had recently experienced one of their worst starts to a season after they had drawn with the Pohang Steelers on Feb. 24th then lost to Sydney FC on March 2nd in their first two matches in the group stage of the 2016 AFC Champions League.
The two-time ACL winners then dropped the above-mentioned CSL opener with Chongqing before they finally snagged a win.
However, Evergrande won the preseason 2016 Chinese FA Super Cup match over Jiangsu Suning, 2-0, with two goals from Goulart.
