Tech giant LG is teaming up with Cricket Wireless to bring its latest affordable handset to the United States, offering its LTE ready budget smartphone called the LG Spree for only $90.

The LG Spree smartphone is an Android based handset with quite impressive specs suitable for consumers who are looking for a reliable and affordable device that provides a decent performance and is cheap.

The latest LG Spree smartphone comes with modest specification and a 4G LTE connectivity for fast Internet. Cricket Wireless launched the device last Friday in the US for just $90 outright.

"The LG Spree provides a combination of value and practicality, making it a great phone for those who currently own an entry-level smartphone and aspire for more without sacrificing style and features," according to Cricket on its press release.

Moreover, Cricket is offering a deal for its consumers, interested buyers who will purchase the LG Spree smartphone by March 24 are eligible to have a $20 discount for the LG Tone Pro Bluetooth wireless headset, which normally sells for $69.99.

When it comes to the LG Spree specifications, the smartphone features a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The device is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon processor (unspecified model) that clocked at 1.1 GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and a 1,940 mAh capacity battery onboard.

In terms of the camera, the handset sports a 5-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel front shooter. The phone comes with a built-in 8 GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32 GB of additional storage and 4G LTE connectivity. On the software, the LG Spree runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

In terms of design, the handset features a polycarbonate body with a brushed metallic finish structure and hefty bezels around the display - typical for a budget offering.
