Chinese tech giant Lenovo has officially launched the Vibe K5 Plus budget smartphone in the Indian market with a price tag of about US$126. The handset is expected to be available exclusively on Flipkart.com beginning on Mar. 23 at 12pm local time.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus was first unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 in Barcelona last month, as the international version of the Lenovo Lemon 3 smartphone that was launched in the Chinese market in 2015.

Specs-wise, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus features a 5.0-inch IPS display screen with a 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution (Full HD) and scratch resistance capability.

The phone comes with the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system out of the box along with support for dual-SIM functionality, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, FM Radio, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac connectivity. As for the camera, it has a 13 megapixel rear-facing unit with LED flash and face detection features, and a 5 megapixel front-facing shooter.

Like the Chinese variant, the Vibe K5 Plus packs a Qualcomm MSM8939v2 Snapdragon 616 under its hood, along with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in memory storage, and a 2,750 mAh battery. The memory can be expanded up to 32GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

In terms of the dimensions, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus comes in a metallic body that measures 142 x 71 x 8 mm and weighs 142 grams. The colors available are silver, gold and gray with a rear aluminum case. Other features include a Dolby Atmos audio technology with dual stereo speakers on the back.

Earlier this year, the Chinese company introduced the Lenovo A7000 Turbo mid-range smartphone in India for around $165. This device, on the other hand, has a 5.5-inch screen with Full HD, and comes with the MediaTek MT6752 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of memory, 13MP front camera, 5MP rear snapper, and a slightly larger 2,900 mAh battery.
