The Shanghai Tower is still under construction but it has already caught the eyes of tourists and the city's residents. Onlookers are desperate to step inside the building that is slated to become the world's second tallest tower once completed.
Now, the wait is almost over as Shanghai Tower has partially opened up its gates to the public to take a ride in its high-speed lift which can take people to the top floor (119th floor) in less than a minute.

According to Chinese media, Shanghai Tower will open to the public very soon. However, no date has been confirmed for the opening. The Tower was supposed to open in June 2015 after starting the construction in 2008, but delay in construction activities and other problems led to its postponement.
At a height of 632 meters, Shanghai Tower is only second to world's tallest, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which stands at 829.8 meters. However, Shanghai Tower is the tallest tower in China, surpassing 600-meter Canton Tower in Guangzhou.
The Shanghai Tower has many special features. It was designed for high energy efficiency that will allow 100 percent clean air inside the building. The tower also offers multiple separate zones for office, retail and leisure use.
