Twitter has rolled out a new update on its service, providing an algorithmic timeline by default.

The company started the timeline reorganization by default quietly earlier this week. It has updated the timeline page to offer information on how its new feed works and how users can opt out. Twitter hopes to attract new set of users by letting them find content easier.

The algorithm is now enabled by default across the social network. The tweets that users are likely to care about will be the first in line on their timeline, according to The Next Web. Accounts are chosen based on often users interact with them, tweets that users are engage with as well.

The changes came after its first launching on Feb. 10 when the company. Some Twitter users have received a notification on mobile regarding the changes, and others claimed that they have not seen anything new to their timeline.

While an opt-in period was used to garner feedback from power users and those who care enough to activate the feature, Twitter was always clear about its intentions to make this a default setting, and today’s move should not come as a surprise.

If the user does not want to have the timeline setting, they can revert it back to old timeline, PCMag reported. They click the "Change my settings" option that will take them to Twitter’s settings page. They need to uncheck the "Show me the best Tweets first" option and the algorithmic aspect will go away. Now, if the user is not able to see the alert, they can go to Settings to manually switch it off.

Twitter is just following what Facebook did, showing what is more important with the users’ preference. Instagram also announced that they will do the same, planning to launch a new feed to sort posts based on interests, as per Digital Trends report.
