Google Maps for iOS has long provided Uber users with fares and other important data. Now, Google is expanding the scope of Maps for iOS to five more ridesharing services, all of which are available in locations outside of the United States.

These five new ridesharing services are Gett, 99Taxis, Hailo, MyTaxi and Ola Cabs. Uber's main competitor Lyft does appear to be supported by Google Maps for iOS.

Gett operates in Israel, Russia, and the United Kingdom. 99Taxis operates in Brazil. Hailo operates in Ireland, Spain, United Kingdom and Singapore. MyTaxi operates in Germany, Austria, Spain, Poland and Switzerland. Ola Cabs operates in India.

If more than one service is available a country, users can compare pickup ties and fare prices on the app in order to get the best deal, according to Engadget. This case is particularly applicable in the United Kingdom and Spain where two ridesharing services are available.

The search giant also announced that it is rolling out the Spotlight Search feature in order to allow users to find their saved and recently-searched destinations. The roll out follows the updates released in February which added 3D Touch support and pit stops to Google Maps for iOS.

With the Spotlight Search feature enabled on Maps for iOS, users can now save standard route options like avoiding tolls when driving. Before this feature was activated, users will have to manually set these options for every trip that they make.

The latest move from Google was interpreted by many tech analysts as part of the company's strategy to broaden the support of its Maps services. By integrating Maps feature into popular ridesharing services, Google is making its service more and more visible to users.
