Chinese smartphone maker Alcatel has announced that its upcoming device with Windows 10 mobile on board will be launched as the Idol 4S.

Alcatel also revealed that the Windows 10 Mobile handset will have the same name as the Android flagship, which is Alcatel Idol 4S. The only main difference is that it is advertised as Alcatel Idol 4S with Windows 10 mobile on board, while the Android version will be sold as Alcatel Idol 4S. This information comes weeks before the smartphone's official launch.

"The Windows 10 smartphone will be more powerful than the Android variant," according to Alcatel's representative.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the upcoming Windows 10 Mobile handset will be more powerful than the Android model base on the full specification of the phone. The Alcatel Idol 4S with Windows 10 mobile model will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The handset will come with a 64GB internal memory storage. Unfortunately, there is no mention of a microSD card slot yet, but we do not rule out the addition of this feature.

The Windows 10 Alcatel Idol 4S smartphone will feature a large 5.5-inch display capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD 1080p resolution. In terms of the camera of the phone, the device will sport a 21-megapxiel camera with LED flash, autofocus, and 4K video recording, while the front is equipped with 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Alcatel Idol 4S will be powered by a 3,000 mAh capacity battery and support Continuum for Phones. The smartphone is expected to arrive in the United States through T-Mobile. However, there is no word on the price and availability of the smartphone at the moment.
