A potential trade between the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers involving top rookie center Jahlil Okafor and All-Star Paul George is predicted as Joel Embiid is reportedly set to return to the Sixers' roster next season.
RealGM indicated that "if Joel Embiid is healthy this summer, the belief is the Philadelphia 76ers will try to trade Jahlil Okafor" in the offseason. But if Embiid remained sidelined, it will be a toss-up between Okafor and another young big man Nerlens Noel on who will stay with the team moving forward.

The 6-foot-11 Okafor, the 2015 NBA Draft's third overall pick, is said to be an incompatible pairing with the 7-foot Embiid, who was also picked by Philadelphia third overall in the 2014 draft and so the Sixers are intending that only one of them will stay in the event that both players are healthy.
Rumors abound that Philadelphia is favoring the Cameroonian center over the Arkansas native and Okafor could be on the trading block this summer even though he actually leads the team in scoring as of the moment.
Sports Grid predicted that a trade with the Pacers, in a package that includes three-time NBA All-Star George, could potentially happen in the summer as Indiana is speculated to be planning on going into full rebuilding mode.
With George around, the Pacers will almost never be a lottery team but at the same time they will not be a championship contending squad either because of the lack of role players. The report said that "swapping George for Okafor and a draft pick makes sense because it gives Indiana something to build around and enough losses in 2016-17 to land a lottery pick" after next season.
The report also said that the trade will "exponentially" become more likely to take place if the Sixers will "include this year's lottery pick, but packaging Okafor with next year's pick would be vastly easier for them to stomach while still sweetening the deal for the Pacers".
While the rumor is far from actually happening, it looks like Okafor will not be a Sixer next season, although he may not end up with the Pacers either.
