Microsoft has announced that “Minecraft: Pocket Edition” will be more powerful because of its additional features.

“Minecraft: Pocket Edition,” which is available for iOS, Android, and Windows 10 (Windows 10 Mobile), will soon receive items called command blocks and “mods” to offer more extensive customization to the game on mobile devices. The company hopes to allow more extensive changes called mods on both versions for users to enjoy.

Jens Bergensten, lead developer on “Minecraft,” has detailed the changes planned for the mobile versions of “Minecraft.” It includes a similar level of flexibility PC gamers have been experiencing with “Minecraft” on portable devices.

The command blocks for the desktop version are useful tools for the experienced “Minecraft” players. They would just key in a forward slash in the chat window and some pseudo-programming that would do things such as teleport players to a different part of the virtual world, change the weather, reward them with a powerful sword, confine them to a jail, summon a flying pig into existence and obliterate all dangerous zombies.

These are not available for the Pocket edition but it would definitely coming to both the mobile and Windows 10 versions of the game.

On the other hand, mods enable more extensive changes by altering the programming of “Minecraft” itself. It creates more excitement, fly on “Minecraft” dragons, boost Minecraft's graphics or add the risk of toxic gases when users are mining. It is worth noting that modding is an essential part of the “Minecraft” community. Bergensten said the in order to support mods for other platform; a system is needed to let it happen without tweaking the application itself. Both command blocks and mods are essential in making the game a successful one.

It is not yet clear when the company will launch the new features. “Minecraft: Pocket Edition” costs $7 for phones and tablets running with iOS and Google Android.
