Below are some interesting facts you may not know about Disneyland Shanghai.

1. Home to Disney's largest castle.

Although the castle is quite similar to Disneyland Florida, Disney Shanghai's castle is equally unique. According to Bob Iger, Disney's chairman and CEO, the captivating castle standing at the center of the park "is not only the largest, tallest and grandest castle that we have ever build but is an entertainment venue unto itself."

Inside the castle, wanna-be prince and princesses could shop royal must-haves at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Aside from charming boutique, dining areas and characters to meet and greet are also found.

The castle will also cater two different rides. The Once Upon a Time Adventure will take guests to the world of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and the Voyage of the Crystal Grotto will celebrate various princesses and the Sorcerer's Apprentice.

2. It has six lands to explore.

While some lands will seem familiar, other lands are totally brand new. With the castle at the heart of the theme park, the different lands surrounding it will have its own unique story and journey to tell.

Disneyland Shanghai will feature Fantasyland for our favorite fairytale stories, Adventure Isle for the thrill-seeking guests, and Tomorrowland for futurist adventures. Instead of the conventional Main Street USA entrance, Disney Shanghai is the first to welcome its guests down the Mickey Avenue, a Mickey Mouse and pals-themed street.

3. Brand new rides!

Rides never been experienced and seen before will be showcased in Disneyland Shanghai including the newly revamped Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure, TRON Lightcycle Power Run, Soaring Over the Horizon, Roaring Rapids, and a whole lot more.

4. It's the cheapest

Of the Disney parks around the world, Disney Shanghai has the cheapest entrance fee. Prices start at as low as ¥370 (around $58), which is more than half the cost you'll spend in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. At peak seasons, prices can only go as low as $20.

5. Disney Shanghai has a touch of the Chinese culture

As mentioned earlier, Disney seems to have kept its promise of imparting the Chinese culture in the new theme park as Chinese symbols are found everywhere including the Golden Peony, China's national flower symbol. Familiar faces in the Garden of Twelve Friends will also be seen as various animals will represent the Chinese zodiac sign.

Disneyland Shanghai is "a truly magical place that is both authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese," Iger said.
