Jiangsu and Tokyo settled for a 0-0 draw in the previous matchday of Asia's premier club continental competitions held at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo, Japan on March 15th which gave both clubs a point each in the Group E standings, as per Soccerway.
The Nanjing residents missed the services of its €32 million-man Ramires during the match as the Brazilian midfielder served a one-game suspension for getting booked with a red card in their 3-2 win over K League Classic squad Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC on March 1st, as reported by Daily Mail Online.
Without the former Chelsea standout, Jiangsu was not able to overpower their Japanese counterparts on the road as head coach Dan Petrescu was satisfied with the share of a point.
Their other big-money signing, Brazilian Alex Teixeira, who was also signed during the winter transfer window for the now-standing Chinese transfer record of €50 million, failed to bring out his top form against Hiroshi Jofuku's side after scoring a goal in their previous match versus Jeonbuk.
South Korea's Green Warriors currently leads Group E with a 2-1-2 record and 6 points with three matchdays left in the group stage of the said tournament.
The top two teams in each of the eight groups will advance in the knockout stage that will begin in May.
The predicted result is a close 1-0 win for Jiangsu Suning.
Jiangsu Suning starting lineup (4-2-3-1 formation): Zhang S.; Ren, Li, Sainsbury, Zhou; Zhang X., Ramires; Teixeira, Wu, Ji; Jo
FC Tokyo starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Akimoto; Ogawa, Maruyama, Morishige, Tokunaga; Hanyu, Hashimoto, Takahashi, Mizunuma; Burns, Maeda
