Middling clubs Guangzhou R&F FC (1-2-0, 3 points) and Yanbian Funde FC (1-1-1, 4 points) are set to clash at the Yuexiushan Stadium in Guangdong on Friday, April 8th as the 2016 Chinese Super League season continues.

Guangzhou R&F lost to cross-city rivals and defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande in their derby last April 1st, 2-0, at the latter's home field of Tianhe Stadium to drop their second game of the season, as reported by Xinhuanet.

Head coach Dragan Stojković's side was not able to pierce the net of Evergrande goalkeeper Zeng Cheng in the entire match while giving away two goals to the hosts courtesy of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho and the Southern China Tigers' €42 million-man Jackson Martinez at the 30th and 80th minutes respectively.

It was the third goal in three straight outings for the former Atletico Madrid striker as Martinez lives up to the expectations of being a goalscoring machine in the Chinese top flight competitions.

Meanwhile, last season's China League One champions Yanbian Funde nipped last season's fourth-place CSL finishers Beijing Guoan, 1-0, at the Yanji Nationwide Fitness Centre Stadium in Yanji City, as per Soccerway.

South Korean striker Tae-goon Ha scored the lone goal of the match right at the 17th minute to provide what eventually was the winning shot for head coach Tae-ha Park's side.

 The capital city team was unable to respond all throughout the game as Yanbian goalkeeper Chi Wenyi achieved his first clean sheet in the domestic first division.

Yanbian is currently at the no. 9 spot in the league table while Guangzhou R&F is settled at the no. 10 spot.

The predicted result is another tough 1-0 victory for Yanbian Funde to hand the Blue Lions their third loss in the season.
