One of the three wrongful death lawsuits filed against Porsche, following the 2013 crash that killed actor Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas, has been dismissed by a federal court judge on Monday.
The lawsuit, filed by Rodas' wife Kristine, claims that design defects such as a faulty suspension and lack of a crash cage or racing fuel cell in the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT led to the death of her husband and Walker.

Rodas was behind the wheel of the Carrera GT and Walker was seated on the passenger seat when the car crashed into a power pole and several trees before erupting into flames in Santa Clarita, California on Nov. 30, 2013.
However, U.S. District Judge Philip Gutierrez found that there is no evidence to support the claim that Porsche's lack of safety features led to the death of Rodas and the 'Fast and Furious' star. Tehe court therefore dismissed all four allegations against the car manufacturer, including negligence, wrongful death and product liability.
Walker's car was travelling at a speed in the range of 80 to 93 mph at the time of the crash. The actor survived the crash but succumbed to injuries resulting from the impact and the subsequent fire, according to a 2013 coroner's report.
Walker's daughter Meadow Walker has also filed a separate wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche and Monday's ruling is not likely to have an impact on her case.
"The issues in the cases are very different. The federal case was filed on behalf of Roger Rodas, who was the driver of the Porsche Carrera GT and was killed instantly upon impact," said Meadow Walker's attorney Jeffrey Milam. "Meadow's father Paul Walker was a passenger in the car. He survived the crash but was trapped and burned to death because of the vehicle's defects."
"Meadow will continue the fight to hold Porsche accountable for selling a defective product that kills," he added.
