Microsoft Studios has announced the official launch date of “Gears of War 4,” along with upcoming revelations about the Gears heroes.
“Gears of War 4” will be released officially on Oct. 11 for the Xbox One. The game is set 25 years after the end of the last entry and Marcus Fenix's son JD will be the protagonist along with a new crew of soldiers. The game has a new start because the franchise is now under Microsoft's control instead of Epic Games, and Vancouver-based subsidiary The Coalition will be the one developing it.

The upcoming game assures that it will bring an experience that reminds fans of the gritty opening years of the Gears phenomenon and its distinct evolution of gameplay that shows off intimate action, a heart-pounding campaign and genre-defining multiplayer.
“Gears of War 4” avoid the four-player co-op in favor of two player co-op that will work locally and online. Its graphics will at 1080p at 30fps for the campaign portion of the game and 60fps for the multiplayer portion. In addition, there are wind flares, Juvies (an enemy from the Swarm) and a new combat knife that will allow players to perform new executions on enemies.
While waiting for the official launch of the game, there is also a beta version that will begin on April 18 with the invitation expanding to all Xbox Live Gold members on April 25. To obtain the “Gears of War 4” multiplayer beta, gamers need to play the “Gears of War: Ultimate Edition” on Xbox One or PC by April 11.
