The New York Police Department released an alarming surveillance footage, which shows a man posing as a cab driver and attacking the children of a woman he reportedly attempted to sexually assault inside his vehicle. According to officials, the man is not an actual cab driver and only pretended to be one.

Officials disclosed to local newspapers that the suspect, who posed as a cab driver, picked up the 26-year-old mother and her three kids, ages 5, 3, and 1, at around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday in Upper Manhattan. Upon reaching an area across the East River in Elmhurst, Queens, the fake taxi driver parked the car in the back end of Pan American Hotel. He then reached out to the backseat and began his attempt to sexually assault the woman inside the vehicle despite the presence of her three children, the New York Post stated. In the disclosed video, the suspect was seen to have turned violent upon the refusal of his woman passenger.

The first child he physically attached was the five-year-old. He grabbed the kid from inside the cab and elbowed her in the head. The child was seen to have been knocked down to the ground. The man then seized the three-year-old cowering inside the vehicle. The child was shown to have been thrown onto the sidewalk, swaying like a rag doll due to the force received from the physical attack. The one-year-old, who was held by the mother, was seen to have fallen to the ground as well. The fall was caused by the subsequent attack of the man on the children's mother before deciding to leave the victims. The woman is shown to be frantically gathering their belongings prior to the flight of the suspect, who escaped the scene on foot.  

Investigators said that all three children, who suffered minor injuries from the attack, were brought to Elmhurst Hospital Center. In a description released by the NYPD to the public, the assailant is a Spanish-speaking Hispanic male. He is said to be in his 40s. He has an earring and manicured eye brows. The suspect was last seen donning a dark blue sweat suit with white stripes. At present, police are seeking information from anyone who might be able to help locate the suspect.
