Reviews said that the film shows parallel threads of family issues, love stories and gangster battles that are all interrelated to create a surprising story plot.

Some said that overall, the plot was draggy - slow and weak - that it failed to sustain the tension it initially created at the beginning.

"It's just fine. I find it's less interesting than One Night in Supermarket. I like its mysterious beginning, but I hate its sentimental end," said Sun Tiantian, a 27-year-old movigoer.

Others think it did pretty well and even complimented the actors.

"The scenes are hilarious and touching," Hu Bei, 29, said.

"I think Qin Hao is the best actor... Yu Entai and Chen Kun also did excellent job in their roles," Zhao Xiaoying, 27, said.

Meanwhile, trailing behind the second spot is the the sequel of Olympus Has Fallen entitled London Has Fallen, raking in almost 160 million yuan.

Coming in third is Hong Kong-Chinese action drama movie The Bodyguard, directed and starred by Sammo Hung, with 127 million yuan ($20 million)

Meanwhile, Disney's animated film Zootopia still managed to bag 85 million yuan this week, raking its total sales to 1.51 billion yuan since its March 4 release. It has also been crowned the highest grossing animation movie ever in Chinese market, surpassing Kung Fu Panda 3.
