AT&T's subsidiary company Cricket Wireless has announced its offering of unlimited data, text, and voice plan for $70 per month.
The Atlanta-headquartered company said that it is the final price that customers have to pay since it includes all applicable taxes and fees. Customers who decide on for automated billing will save $5 and will have to pay $65 per month for the same plan.

“If you're looking for great coverage with simple plans, all-in monthly rates, and the freedom of no annual contract, we've got you covered. Cricket Wireless is taking a wrecking ball to long-term contracts and making everyone smarter and happier with an unlimited plan on a network that is bigger than T-Mobile's,” Cricket Wireless said in a blog post.
The prepaid carrier provides the service on AT&T’s data network which is capable of much higher speeds but for the prepaid network LTE speeds are throttled to 8Mbps and to 4Mbps for 4G. It is not really slow but it is not really up to modern standards for high-speed mobile data.
In addition, Cricket is also willing to credit $100 off customers’ bills when they switch from T-Mobile. The company also called T-Mobile’s minimum charges “Very Uncool” because it charges at least $25 more per month for its Simple Choice Unlimited Plans, and has a smaller network for 4G LTE.
Currently, Cricket has no policy in place to penalize customers who consume a significant amount of data on this plan but it could consider a reasonable network management practices in the future.
Cricket is the latest service provider to offer a more budget-friendly plan to its customers, joining other major carriers like Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile.
