It is one of the most requested features for the Android Wear platform and now Microsoft is finally making it happen. The tech giant announced that it is releasing an update for the Microsoft Outlook app to support Android Wear devices.

According to Engadget, the Microsoft Outlook app has been available on the Apple Watch since August 2015. Since the release of the app on Apple's flagship smartwatch, it was well received by users and tech experts as a useful personal email service provider.

On the other hand, Android Wear users have been requesting for the Outlook app to be supported on their platform for quite some time now. By extending its support to Android Wear, the Outlook app is providing users with an easy-to-use hub for all their emails and scheduled activities. This also means that Android Wear users can read their emails straight from their smartwatch, as well as delete, reply, archive and schedule messages.

The team working on Microsoft Outlook included pre-written responses which can be used to hastily reply to urgent and important emails.

Microsoft recently released Outlook version 2.1.0 app, which along with a handful of updates, now adds support for Android Wear.

In a statement acquired by Android Central, Microsoft said, "This week, we're bringing the best of Outlook to Android Wear. Stop reaching out for your phone, everything is now happening on your watch."

Just like its Apple Watch version, Microsoft Outlook for Android Wear will pretty much offer the same set of tools and features in order to help users track their emails. As of this writing, Outlook for Android Wear is still unavailable for download on the Google Store. However, Microsoft said that it should be able to roll out the app within the next couple of days.
