CBS Sports' Ken Berger reported that "there's a potential breakup" between Conley and the Grizzlies this summer as head coach David Joerger's squad is already aging and has been on a decline in the past two seasons.

Berger points out that Conley is "expected" to depart come free-agency and there were allegations that he could end up with Phil Jackson's Knicks as the Big Apple squad is still searching for the ideal point guard that will run their triangle offense.

Fansided's Jason Parker suggested New York to be one of Conley's potential destinations once his contract expires in the summer.

While the addition of Conley will definitely not push the Knicks to become instant championship contenders overnight, he will certainly provide immediate upgrade at the position where old guard Jose Calderon and youngsters Langston Galloway and Jerian Grant are the mainstays.

The report also said that the nine-year veteran is experienced enough "not be blinded by the big lights of the city that never sleeps", but also young enough to be a prime playmaker in Jackson's triangle system.

Conley has never played for any other NBA team since he was selected fourth overall by the Grizzlies in the 2007 NBA Draft.

He had been in the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2013 and a recipient of the NBA Sportsmanship Award in 2014. He is also one of several Western Conference guards that had been playing at an All-Star level year after year but still has not managed to be included in any All-Star game so far.
