Bayern Munich standout Arturo Vidal reportedly wants his Chile international teammate Alexis Sanchez to join him and play for the Bavarians starting next season.

Metro reported that the Arsenal winger "has been urged to complete a transfer to Bayern Munich by his Chile team-mate Arturo Vidal" in the offseason as the latter is said to be keen on playing with one of the Premier League's top goalscorers at the Allianz Arena "following speculation his compatriot is a target for the Bundesliga outfit".

"Hopefully," said Vidal when asked about the possibility of having the 27-year-old Gunners forward this summer, as per Caught Offside. "We have played together since playing for the Under-20s, so it would be nice to play with him again."

The two Chile national team players had found a lot of success playing together in international competitions, winning the 2015 Copa America trophy and defeating world powerhouse Brazil in the World Cup qualifiers recently.

The 28-year-old Vidal was acquired by the Bavarians last summer from Italian Serie A champions Juventus FC for a reported transfer fee of €37 million. He signed a four-year deal with Der FCB and is about to complete his first season for the Bundesliga champions.

Vidal had scored three times in 28 domestic league appearances for the Germany giants this season mainly as a defensive midfielder. He had scored six goals in 42 games in all competitions for Bayern.

Rumors have emerged that the Reds may lose World Cup-winning winger Mario Götze in the summer as English Premier League squad Liverpool FC is targeting the Germany international. With that, Bayern is said to be looking at Arsenal, particularly at Sanchez, as a potentially replacement for Götze if his transfer to England pushes through this offseason.

Sanchez is now in his second season with the Gunners and had scored 14 times in 36 appearances in all competitions for Arsene Wenger's side. He was signed by Arsenal in the summer of 2014 from La Liga champions FC Barcelona for an undisclosed fee that was estimated to be €44 million.
