Actor Hawick Lau, who allegedly has problems with his marriage to actress Yang Mi, clarified through an interview that none of these rumors were true.

The rumor started when Hawick's demeanor attracted public attention during a press conference, promoting his upcoming TV series.

Hawick was grilled with questions relating to his 29-year-old wife but chose not to answer these questions in detail.

When the 41-year-old actor was asked when the last time he spent time with Yang Mi was, he replied that the recent time they saw each other was the 'last time.'

The reporters attempted to contact the actor for further clarification due to this vague response and Hawick was rather perplexed at the media's reaction.

Hawick replied that he felt nervous at the time of the press conference due to the way reporters questioned him about his private life. The actor is known to answer questions without any frills and can cooperate with the media, but entertaining questions about how he spends time with his wife were 'strictly private matters' that go beyond the line.

Hawick added that if his agitated reaction gave media the impression that he was uncooperative, he will take this opportunity to apologize to everyone involved. The actor requested that these misunderstandings will end and the public should pay more attention to his work.

Hawick and Yang Mi have been marred with divorce rumors throughout their two-year marriage.

Hawick previously revealed that his workload is heavy to the extent of filming two dramas concurrently. The actor learned his lesson to practice efficient time management, in order to spend more time with his family.

The actor disclosed that he and Yang Mi are often separated due to filming projects but this doesn't mean their marriage is on the rocks.

Yang Mi also separately released a press statement disproving these rumors, describing them as fabricated and malicious.
