Weeks after HTC Vive's companion app was released on Android devices, the Taiwanese multinational smartphone manufacturer HTC has finally released the iOS counterpart of the companion app for Vive virtual reality headset.
HTC launched the iOS companion app for owners of HTC Vive and iPhones to get notifications and be updated while users are immersed in virtual reality. Users would be able to receive text messages, receive calls and calendar reminders within the VR headset without interrupting their play, according to GSM Arena.

However, unlike HTC Vive's companion app on Android, the iOS version would not be able to send preset replies for text messages and calls. Good thing is that, it is highly likely that the iOS version will be updated in the coming months to be at par with the Android version.
On other news, since Virtual Reality is becoming popular, it is speculated by analysts that more than 9 million VR headsets will be shipped out this year alone. Although HTC Vive and Oculus Rift is expensive, there will be a chance that the price of these VR headsets will decrease due to the increase of demands.
On one hand, since the technology is pretty new, there may not be that much of content available for consumers to use; however, it is said that developers are now coming up some ways on how to create apps and games with the use of the VR.
Currently, the most in demand VR headset in the market is the Oculus Rift, which is why rumors has it that Oculus will be releasing an updated VR headset or may even release an Oculus Rift 2 at Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, which will be held in Los Angeles Convention Center in June.
