The 29th match of the ninth edition of Indian Premier League - IPL 2016 - will be played between Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Rising Pune Supergiants and Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians on Sunday. RPS' home ground Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune will host the T20 match.

The new Pune franchise has managed to win just two out of their last seven matches. Recently, they lost their last match against Gujarat Lions despite Steve Smith's century. Batting first, the Supergiants posted a massive 193 for three in twenty overs. The Lions, in reply, chased down the target on the final ball of the inning. Gujarat's openers Dwayne Smith (63 off 37 balls) and Brendon McCullum (43 off 22 deliveries) guided their side to the sixth victory of the tournament.

Skipper MS Dhoni blamed new ball bowlers for the loss. "First six overs, sixty runs, and it puts a lot of pressure. I feel we definitely need to improve our new-ball bowling. We should crack the code. Otherwise, we will be at the receiving end," he said.

The Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, are standing at the third spot in the eight-team IPL 2016 standings with four victories out of eight games. The Nita Ambani-owned Mumbai franchise registered two back-to-back victories in their last outings against Kolkata Knigh Riders (KKR) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).
