'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' developer Naughty Dog has released a detailed multiplayer roadmap ahead of the official release of the game on May 10. The multiplayer component of the game is expected to come as a downloadable content and subsequent releases are already planned out until the spring of 2017.

'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' will have six multiplayer modes; these are Command, Ranked, Team Deathmatch, Plunder, Warm Up Playlist, and Trials.

Naughty Dog is embracing a new philosophy regarding  the development and release of the multiplayer content for 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.' This new philosophy includes offering all of the game's multiplayer maps and modes completely for free. The studio added that the maps and modes will be available to gamers immediately. Various "vanity and gameplay in-game store items" are also unlockable through gameplay.

Based on the infographic released by Naughty Dog, the first of the three downloadable contents will be released in autumn this year. It includes co-op modes, additional maps, new weapons and boosters, new Mystical, more than 50 new skins, and more than 100 vanity items.

The second downloadable content will be released during winter in 2017. This third release will include more weapons and boosters, as well as additional skins and vanity items.

The last of the four downloadable contents will be released during spring in 2017. It will include new weapons and boosters, skins, and vanity items.

Naughty Dog said that it is embracing this new release philosophy for the multiplayer community to stay intact and not "fragmented" due to different downloadable content purchases. 

Naughty Dog is also introducing Relics, which is a type of in-game currency that can be earned through gameplay. All the downloadable contents for 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' are unlockable using these Relics. This new feature will ensure that gamers who invest more time into the game will be properly rewarded.
